A REAL book is one whose words grow ever more luminous as one’s own experience increases or as one is led  or edged over into considering them with greater attention.-Ezra Pound, Guide to Kulcher, page 319

The next best thing to attending a live concert is getting your hands on a decent DVD and playing it loudly.  There are many Tristan & Isoldes out there, but right now I like Teatro alla Scalla’s presentation, starring Waltraud Meier and Ian Storey, conducted by Dan Barenboim, directed by Patrice Chéreau.  The audience likes the show and Meier receives the biggest applause.  Lose yourself and become the world.
